“We worked with Livewire on the analysis of a consultation on supported housing. The consultation was long (over 90 questions) with a lot of free text options. We worked iteratively with Livewire before the consultation was published and throughout, and they were receptive to our feedback. Livewire provided practical ideas before we consulted, such as creating an interactive PDF to avoid non-standardised responses… and working with us on a glossary to ensure they understood the subject matter as much as possible. During the consultation period, Livewire developed weekly progress reports for the policy team and we had weekly meetings to assess how things were going. Once the consultation closed, Livewire created a report within the time frame stipulated and then spent time amending the report to our specifications, resulting in an informative summary report and detailed 300 page annex that reflects what stakeholders told us, and that we are finding really useful as we move to our next stage of policy development and develop our government response. “In February this year, the government launched the Devolution Priority Programme, taking forward proposals to create Mayoral Strategic Authorities in the great counties and communities of Cumbria, Cheshire and Warrington, Greater Essex, Hampshire and the Solent, Norfolk and Suffolk, and Sussex and Brighton….Following the announcement, public consultations were undertaken in each area. “The Government’s consultation on restricting ground rents for existing leases ran…we can confirm that the general response to the consultation has confirmed that ground rents represent, at most, a small percentage of total UK pension assets. In addition, no substantive evidence has been provided within the consultation that suggests that there is a systemic risk to the operation of pension funds or the financial markets. Even the sector itself….. has recognised the necessity of reform in this policy area.”
